Coronavirus Ask An Expert
Earlier this afternoon Los Angeles County health officials confirmed two new cases of the novel coronavirus in the region. One of the individuals had a known history of travel to Japan. But officials have not been able to determine the source of exposure for the OTHER person affected making it potentially the first community spread case.

A Day Without a Woman
Thousands of women in Mexico are staying off the streets as part of a national strike to highlight the economic impact over the crisis of violence against women in the country. Dubbed Un Dia Sin Mujeres or A Day Without Women, the strike comes a day after about 80-thousand women marched to protest gender-based violence in Mexico City during International Women’s Day. Last year, Mexico classified a total of 1,006 killings as femicides or homicides targeting women specifically. Paulina Villegas, a reporter for The New York Times based in Mexico City, joins us to discuss.

ECE Trauma Training
The Los Angeles Unified School District knows many of its students will experience trauma before they turn 18. Living in poverty, witnessing violence and the absence of a parent are all examples of situations that can hurt a child's development and their success in school. KPCC's Mariana Dale takes us to a preschool in the San Fernando Valley where teachers are learning how to work with those students. She also joined us to discuss how to talk to kids about coronavirus.
