John Moe, host of the Marketplace Tech Report, joins the show to talk about the latest news in the tech world.

From our 'It Was All A Fad, I Tells Ya, A FAD' file, Zynga, the social gaming company behind time-wasters like Farmville and Words With Friends, saw its stock price plummet by 37 percent, which could be an ominous sign for social companies as Facebook is expected to report their earnings for the first time since they went public.

Apple releases their newest version of their Mac operating system, called Mountain Lion, to attack computers with its big claws of usability and its sharp teeth of features. Among the new additions is the ability to sync reminders, calendars, and text messages with iPhones and iPads.

And finally, the Black Hat Security Conference in Las Vegas is going on this week and hackers are doing terrifying things again. Researchers from the US and Spain were able to trick iris scans, with fake digital iris codes. Iris scans are used in high security places quite often. Another hacker showed how to hack open hotel rooms with only 50 dollars worth of hardware.

John Moe, is the host of the Marketplace Tech Report, which airs every weekday at 7 p.m. on KPCC.
