Police search for 5-year-old boy as father arrested

UPDATE Sun., April 23: At a 4 p.m. press conference, law enforcement officials announced that they are continuing the search for 5-year-old Aramazd Andressian, Jr. The boy was last seen Tuesday on a Skype call while in the custody of his father, Aramazd Andressian, Sr. The elder Andressian is being held on $10 million bail in his son's disappearance. One law enforcement officials said of him: "His story was all over the place and he kept changing his story."

Los Angeles County authorities are still searching for a 5-year-old boy who was reported missing after paramedics found his father passed out in a park.

Aramazd Andressian, Sr. was discovered unconscious around 6:30 a.m. Saturday at Arroyo Park in South Pasadena, reports NBC Los Angeles. His car was found nearby. 

His son, Aramazd Andressian, Jr., has not been found. NBC reports that police searched the park, combing through thick brush with the help of bloodhounds and search and rescue teams.

The boy's parents are reportedly in the midst of a divorce and share custody. Police in South Pasadena say the boy's mother reported Saturday that her estranged husband had failed to drop the boy off at a pre-arranged meeting place.

After being treated at a hospital, Andressian, Sr. was arrested for child abduction and endangerment.

Police Chief Art Miller said investigators don't know why the man was unconscious. Miller said that the father hadn't been able to give police any tips about where his son might be or what happened to him.
