Pallet fire in City of Industry under control

Crews have a handle on a two-alarm pallet fire that broke out early Sunday morning in the City of Industry.

The blaze was reported shortly before 4:30 a.m. at Commercial Lumber Pallets.

When crews arrived, they found a 50' by 50' pallet yard well-involved in the flames. The fire was under control by about 7:30 a.m.

Firefighters are now using dozers to sort through pallets in case flames are smoldering underneath.

Several pallet fires have occurred in the Inland Empire over the last few weeks but Gustavo Medina, an inspector with the Los Angeles County fire Department, tells KPCC that so far there's nothing about today's pallet fire that could be deemed suspicious.

Arson investigators from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department have been called out to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
