Hundreds of sad Angelenos bid farewell to the Sixth Street Viaduct before it closed Wednesday for demolition, ahead of a new bridge being created in its place.

Constructed in 1932, the bridge linked the Arts District and Boyle Heights, softening the downtown skyline with its iconic arches. It’s become part of the Los Angeles culture — including, of course, its movies, TV shows and music videos.
