A Southern California man has been arrested in connection with the deaths of two people in separate shootings about 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
Jason Barton was arrested Thursday outside a San Diego taco shop. The 38-year-old was charged with intimidating a worker at the shop and drug possession, and taken back to Riverside County. More charges are expected next week.
Colton police Cpl. Ray Mendez says Barton fatally shot a woman behind a gas station around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Mendez says the woman was romantically involved with Barton.
Twenty minutes later, Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Armando Munoz says Barton shot a man and a woman in Moreno Valley. The man died.
Barton's stepmother, Eunice Barton, told The Associated Press the victims are Jason Barton's father and sister.
