Days after a bomb threat forced the evacuation of Mira Costa High School on Monday, another threat received by the school's staff prompted the cancellation of classes at the high school and nearby Pennekamp Elementary on Friday.
The Manhattan Beach Police Department said that officers are present at the schools, but offered no further details about the nature of Friday's threat. Investigators are trying to figure out who's behind it.
According to Sgt. Matt Sabosky, an email was sent to the students’ parents and the department released a citywide alert.
On Monday, the department evacuated classrooms at the high school after a bomb threat was called into the school’s administration office. That case is still being investigated.
