There was an officer-involved shooting in Northridge on Monday around 1 p.m., LAPD's Drake Madison told KPCC.
Officers were responding to a report of a person creating a disturbance at Elkwood Street and Andasol Avenue.
According to Officer Lilian Preciado, the suspect was a male Hispanic in his mid 30s. She told KPCC that the officers gave him commands that he failed to obey, and that a Taser and a bean bag shotgun were used before a struggle ensued and the suspect was shot.
Preciado said that the man was pronounced dead at the scene and there is no information yet on any weapon used.
