KPCC programming can now be heard more clearly in Palm Springs, thanks to a new transmitter broadcasting at 93.3 FM, KPCC announced Monday.
The new transmitter will rebroadcast the station's signal at 90.3 KVLA in Coachella. In a statement, KPCC President Bill Davis said the increased presence in the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs areas is part of a focus on more regular news coverage of the area.
"We’re delighted to provide a stronger signal to Palm Springs," Davis said in the statement. "Over the years, we are proud to have provided increased news coverage in the Palm Springs and Coachella Valley region. SCPR is committed to producing continued high-quality, dependable public service journalism and community engagement, both on the radio at 93.3 FM and 90.3 FM, as well as on-line at KPCC.org."
KPCC programming can now be heard in six counties: Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino — and around the world at SCPR.org/listen.
