LAPD seeks information on man who was killed riding bike in South LA

Police are calling for the public's help in identifying a suspect who shot and killed a man early Sunday as he rode his bike in South Los Angeles. The homicide was the first the city's investigated this year. 

Don Jackson, 46, was on his bicycle on the 100th block of South Main Street at 12:20 a.m. Sunday when he was gunned down by a suspect or suspects on foot, L.A. police said in a statement. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

LAPD is asking anyone with information to contact their criminal gang/homicide detectives at (213) 485-4341.  Anonymous tips can be made at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  

Jackson's case is the first murder to be investigated in 2014, police said.
