The Eastsider LA reports that Echo Park Lake has been "unwrapped," as sections of green construction screen are taken down after a two-year, $45-million rehabilitation effort.

The removal of the screen near the corner of Echo Park and Park avenues revealed a vista of the lake, bridge and golf-course green lawns... Expect that chain link fence to come down soon.

Echo Park Lake will have its grand reopening on June 15. Echo Park Now reports it will take crews a few days to fully remove the fence.

A ceremony is set for Saturday, hosted by Mayor-elect Eric Garcetti, the Department of Rec and Parks and the Bureau of Engineering. The celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Logan Street and Park Avenue.
