Today is Free Comic Book Day, a international (sort of) holiday in which participating stores offer free comic books to anyone who wants them. While supplies last, of course. 

It also happens to be May 4th, a day when Star Wars Fans all post "May the fourth be with you" on Facebook ... but that's beside the point. 

The available titles vary from store to store, but there are some pretty great ones being offered, no matter what your taste. Wired magazine has a pretty extensive and well-researched guide to the 10 titles you need to grab, including Buck Rogers in the 25th Century A.DKaboom! Summer Blast (which features stories from popular titles like Adventure Time, Garfield and Peanuts), Star WarsCaptain Midnight, and Avatar: The Last Airbender, among many others.

Free Comic Book Day, FCBD for short, happens the first Saturday of May every year, and it's a chance for comic book stores to entice the next generation of comic books fans.
