A public memorial for California TV icon Huell Howser was held Tuesday. The event remembered the late host of public television’s “California’s Gold” who took viewers to little pockets around the state that Huell thought were “amazing.” One of the attendees at the memorial filmed the whole thing, which you can check out below.
Speakers at the event included Los Angeles City Councilman Tom LaBonge, Griffith Park Observatory Director Dr. Ed Krupp, actress and Howser friend Anne-Marie Johnson, president and CEO of KCET Al Jerome, humorist Charles Phoenix, executive director of the L.A. Conservancy Linda Dishman and Board of Public Works Commissioner Capri Maddox.
