The Los Angeles Unified school board will consider reinstating an outspoken iPad critic to an oversight committee at its meeting Tuesday.

Architect Stuart Magruder resisted the growth of the district's $1 billion one-to-one tablet program when he sat on the Bond Oversight Committee. Bond funds have been used to pay for the devices, install wifi and revamp networks.

Last month, Board member Tamar Galatzan motioned to remove Magruder's name from a list of reappointments to the committee, arguing he had overstepped his role.

Hundreds of people signed a petition to demanding the board reinstate him.

Board member Bennett Kayser is asking the rest of the board to reconsider.  They are scheduled to vote at 2 pm, just before the final hearing on the 2014-15 school year budget.
